Call for Fiber Artists!

What: the second “Warped Milwaukee Fiber Art Exhibition”. 

Theme: Angels and Idols 

When: November 12 – December 3 

Where: Jazz Gallery, Riverwest, Milwaukee 

Who: Open to all residents of Wisconsin who work with fiber. 

How: Applications will be available online starting Sept. 19.
Deadline Oct. 31. There is a $15 non-refundable application fee.

Warped Milwaukee is sponsored by ABK Weaving Center.

Warped Milwaukee Fiber Art Exhibition 2011

We are in the process of getting all our ducks in a row.  There are some things we know and some things we don't know.  For example, we have a theme but we don't have our judges.  Little things like that.  I'll let you know what I know as I know it.  Know what I mean?  I'll post the artist call on here later today and any other pertinent information that I can think of.  If you have questions you can ask them here (wait until after you read the artist call later today) or send them to: contact@abkweavingcenter.org.

Warped Milwaukee 2010

Many thanks goes out to the artists who participated in our first fiber arts exhibition:  Amelia Hernandez, Tina Grogan, Lynell Kream, Jill Reginato Pitterle, Maikue Vang, Jane Moore, Shannon Molter, Jeanne Smith, Cristian Munoz, Sara von Tresckow, Harmonie Baker, Ximena Soza, and Sarah Holden.  Another thank you goes out to the Jazz Gallery board members for allowing us the use of their space.  It was beyond gracious.  Because of the success of this years show we are already planning another Warped Milwaukee show for next fall.  Keep checking back here for more information. Warped Milwaukee Opening Reception

The Warped Milwaukee Fiber Art Exhibition opens this Saturday, the 13th, 6pm at the Jazz Gallery in Riverwest.  The Gallery is  Located at 926 E. Center Street.  We would like to turn this show into an annual event with each year getting bigger and better so come out and show your support.  We got wine and art, two of the finer things in life.  Here are a couple sneak peaks....

Sunday Nov. 14th 1-5
Thursday Nov. 18th 5-8
Saturday Nov. 20th 12-5
Sunday Nov. 21st 1-5
Saturday Nov. 27th 12-5

Because the Jazz Gallery sitters are strictly volunteer I expect more days to be added in the near future.  Keep checking back.

Thank you so much to all of you who sent in photographs of your work.  We are super excited about this show and hope to see it continue to grow year after year.  If you didn't make it into the show this year, we sincerely hope that you will try again next year.  This year's show opens on Nov. 13th and runs until Dec. 5th.  Please come on out and support the artists who made this show possible.
